Hi friends & family!

Many of you know that in just 10 short weeks, on April 19th, I'm running in the 114th Boston Marathon. This will be my 7th year heading to that starting line. Thankfully, every year I also make it to the finish line! I am, once again, running to raise funds for Children's Hospital Boston. As a qualified runner, my goal is to raise $750. Many of you know that on April 18th, I'm running in the 115th Boston Marathon. This will be my 8th year heading to the starting line and I am so thankful to run for yet another year! It's been abit tougher this year to fit the training in among all these snowstorms, but that's the fun of training for Boston, I guess!

Once again, I am running to raise funds for Children's Hospital Boston. As a qualified runner, my goal is to raise $1,000. I am raising funds through a "Power of 10" campaign. A 10-mile run is still one of my favorites - long enough to feel like you worked hard but still leaves plenty of time to get other things done in your day. So, while I think running 10 miles isn't so hard, maybe donating $10 isn't either? I would love to have friends and family donate $10 to this cause - showing the fact that a little can go a long way to help do wonderful things. Maybe you could put aside $1 a week for the next 10 weeks as your donation? What about donating your spare change for the next 10 weeks? Or, perhaps pledge $0.40 a mile for a good cause? I would be so grateful for your support!

I am also running for my friend Jillian, my patient partner for the last 6 years. When Jillian was just a six-month old baby, her pediatrician recommended that she see various specialists due to some concerns about her development. The next few months became her family's own marathon as they met with specialists at Children’s Hospital in the departments of Neurology, Genetics, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, and Vascular Anomalies in order to address Jillian’s physical and developmental needs. After months of coordination between the various departments, Jillian was diagnosed with Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba Syndrome, a rare genetic syndrome, as well as a form of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Now ten years old, Jillian visits Children's Hospital on a regular basis. Raising funds to help treat children like Jillian is a big reason why I have committed to running the marathon again as part of the Children's Hospital Boston Marathon Team.

If you would like to support me in this effort, you can help in one of three ways:
1) write a check (payable to Children's Hospital Boston) and send it to me, or
2) go online to http://howtohelp.childrenshospital.org/bostonmarathon/pfp/?ID=GJ0083 (if this doesn't take you to my page, you can click here, then click on the "Sponsor a Runner" box on the right side of the screen, and enter my name), or
3) cheer for me and Jillian on Marathon Day!

Your contribution helps Children's Hospital Boston continue to be the leading source of research and discovery and to provide the highest quality care to children throughout New England and the world. With your help, Children's can continue their amazing work.

Thank you for your support!
